The ribbons! The wrappings! The tinsel! And most importantly - the wine! Let us take care of one item on your holiday checklist with this trio of Booker & MFN delights. Includes:
40% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 30% Syrah
Oublié’s blend is always Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre – our California version of a Châteauneuf du Pape. The namesake is a play on the French term for “forgotten”. Rhône varietals grow beautifully on our estate and we believe that they are far-too-often forgotten when you think of a California wine. At first taste you will never believe this bottle is a 2018. Soft and approachable with dark cherry and vanilla aromas, coupled with blueberries and crushed black pepper on the palate. Each component of the blend seems to fit together like the perfect puzzle piece. Oublié is traditionally one of our most food-friendly wines and should pair well with most dishes.
2019 MY FAVORITE NEIGHBOR
The 2019 My Favorite Neighbor features a complex nose of red cherry, current and raspberry along with wild herbs, violets, and just a hint of toasted marshmallow. On the palate, generous flavors of black cherry, ripe plum, and fig compote is joined by notes of medium roast coffee and creme brulee. The extremely long and mineral finish is characterized by a hefty structure and luxurious, silky tannins.
Often described as a Booker flagship, Fracture is one of the world’s great Syrahs. Only the softest Syrah in barrel makes the cut for this dense and powerful wine. The namesake pays homage to the calcareous soil in our vineyard, the limestone causes it to ‘fracture’. Deep and mysterious at first sight, the 2018 vintage is rich and velvety on your palate. There is an interesting balance of earth and fruit, with traces of sweet beets, dark plums and chocolate. Though this silky wine will pair with anything, our thoughts are going to salty popcorn by the fire or Dutch Gouda cheese with some black truffle mustard.
