100% Tempranillo

The little block of Tempranillo planted at the front of the estate is known as the “wild child” of Booker. Its reputation only grows with the 2020 EXT vintage. A nearly opaque hue foreshadows concentrated aromas of red cherry, mission fig and fruit leather. The flavor profile downplays primary fruits in favor of earthier notes such as mineral, tar, cedar and woodsmoke. Rich, rustic textures add length to the finish. A delicious Iberian detour from our usual Rhône sensibilities. Aged for 22 months in French oak barrels.
