Many know I have been trying to craft Ripper to be a more approachable and extracted pure form of Grenache, similar to the 2011 vintage. 2019 vintage exemplifies it beautifully. Youthful garnet in color, this wine displays playful aromas of wild strawberry, roses and Chinese five spice. The mouthfeel is rich and supple with just a slight grip and lingering flavors of cinnamon, clove and crème brûlée. The mid-palate keeps its density but it is such a beautiful form of Grenache, I believe this will rival my top Rippers ever made.
If Ripper is your style, we would also suggest tasting Oublié!
