SPRING RELEASE NOTES
Our regenerative organic estate vineyard is waking up, and we are pumped to share our Spring Release with you. The cycle starts with cover crops between vineyard rows—legumes for nitrogen fixing and prairie grasses that push water deep into the roots. By March we will see bud break, where the vines show their first signs of life. For now, we look forward to sharing our new release reds from the stunning 2023 vintage. This vintage was a winemaker’s dream—moderate weather, perfect ripening, and wines that pack depth, finesse, and staying power. Enjoy!

VIOGNIER 45%, CHARDONNAY 37%, MARSANNE 14%, ROUSSANNE 5%
Crafting Booker White is always a tall order, as we have set the bar high for this wine. It must always be seamless with a big mouthfeel and texture, all underpinned by a gorgeous amount of acid - a riddle that we solve with a blend that evolves each year. The 2023 vintage is loaded with impressions of orange blossom, jasmine, stone fruit and kaffir lime with crisp acidity. A wine that displays the verve and freshness of a banner growing season in Paso Robles.
100% GRENACHE
Ripper is a Booker original that helped put Paso Robles Grenache on the map, long revered for its balance of beauty and staying power. The 2022 Ripper EXT is loaded with signature varietal aromas of strawberry and plum with hints of baking spices. The strawberry character gains intensity on the palate along with orange peel, cranberry and vanilla. A silky finish displays gorgeous length facilitated by 22 months of aging in 30 percent new French oak puncheons.
GRENACHE 40%, MOURVÈDRE 35%, SYRAH 25%
Oublié is what Booker founder-winemaker Eric Jensen calls his “homage to Châteauneuf-du-Pape... light and beautiful with blue fruit and a sprinkle of Syrah to add density to the wine.” The 2022 Oublie EXT more than lives up to this billing. The mouthfeel is explosive with flavors of black cherry, plum, boysenberry, black currant and toasty spices. This EXT edition was matured for 22 months in 50 percent new French oak barrels and puncheons.

Vertigo is our iconic Rhone-style blend named after the dizzyingly steep slopes of our estate. The 2022 vintage is driven by Syrah with a kiss of Viognier to level up the aromatics of violets, toasted marshmallow, blueberry pie and black raspberry. This 2022 EXT edition was aged for 22 months in 50 percent new French oak barrels for enhanced mouthfeel and length, which takes this vintage of Vertigo to a whole new level.
100% SYRAH
If you walk the Booker estate during the arid summer months, you will discover tiny fissures and fractures underfoot — the telltale signs of our coveted limestone soils. Fracture is our testament to these highly calcareous soils, which produce a Syrah of uncommon depth and texture. The 2022 Fracture EXT was aged for 22 months in 60 percent new French oak barrels. Deep layers of black raspberry, blackberry and cherry reveal trailing notes of graphite and dark roast coffee.
100% TEMPRANILLO
Tempranillo is the Iberian grape variety that swims upstream at the Booker estate — the lone “wild child” among our family of Rhône varieties. It is planted on a small block at the front of the vineyard and has become a beloved favorite over the years. The 2022 Tempranillo EXT was aged for 22 months in 50 percent new 320-liter French oak cigars. The palate is deeply layered with tar, black fruits and a subtle sea breeze salinity, creating a wine that is at one rustic and refined.
